My New Toy
As per request, here are some pics of my new toy.
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...er95/36380.JPG http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...er95/36381.JPG It is a 1987 Porsche 944 turbo. ~80k miles almost completely stock except for a boost controller and chips. I have been looking for one of these on and off for the last few years, test driving several. I finally found one to my liking and picked it up last Thursday. The pics are from the PO. I haven't had time to take my own yet. |
VERY nice! original dash? looks uncracked and perfect.
i was never a fan of the phonedial wheels, but my friend loves 'em, so that's just opinion. planning on any modifications? again, sweet Porsche!!! :) |
Sadly the dash is cracked, you just can't see it in the pics. The car is in good cosmetic shape, but mechanical condition is where it really shines.
I want to keep this car relatively stock. It is REALLY hard to find a stock 951. Eventually I may do a stealth MAF install. MAF instead of AFM, still in the stock location. That + chips puts an otherwise stock car in the 300bhp range. |
Great looking 951 Collin! I guess you lined up an owner for your SVX or will you be keeping it for a winter beater?

Nice Collin. Thanks for offering to go check out the black 951 for me. I'm fairly positive I'm going the 968 route, but I do love the 951! :D

Congrat to your new toy. Looks clean and nice. How much does it cost you?
I can't tell from the pic but do you have an airbag on the steering? |

haven't i blathered on and on about that car already? :D edit: i guess there are two, 928 and 968. |
Sorry, I don't check this forum to much anymore.. reason I asked is I'm checking autotrader for some local ones. Check out this sweet 944 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=60
I would personally never own one, from what I hear the upkeep is costly. I couldn't imagine the fixit bills for the 928's/968's, having V8's in some models |
Yeah, that's a nice one for sure. It's wild how much people can invest. It looks new and in the photos it does look like a toy.
