What are the best places for jack stands.
 

Were would be the best place to put jack stands, to hold the whole car up with 4 jack stands. Iam starting my 5spd swap today, and was just wondering if ther is a good spot so the car is fairly high up. Or just under the frame/unibody.

i know some of the people on this board have done a 5spd swap, and know.

I haven't done a 5-speed, but when I swapped out the auto box I put the front jackstands under the frame member between the pivots of the lower A-arm in the front. In the back I used ramps (had to jack it up once out & once in to turn the driveshaft to tighten up bolts. For some reason the ramps gave me a sense of security & stability.

yeah i hate having a car up on 4 jack stands, never thought about ramps fopr some reason. thanks
