Happy Birthday Svxcess

Last week John H. (SVXCESS) turned the big six O.
His wife, Trish, threw a little suprise party for him this past Saturday. You should have seen the flabbergasted look on John's face when 4 SVXes & a Ford Focus pulled up his driveway and parked. The lead car was a pearly driven by Mike W. (RUFUS). It was followed by our (Larry III & The Beautiful Naviguesser) Bordeaux pearl. Then came Harry's (Newsvx) beautiful red SVX and Ron's (RON) black batmobile. The rear was brought up by a silver Focus with Jean & Don (SVXPHILES). They were up from WV on vacation.
We all parked in line next to John's green '96 SVX. Five SVXes sat on his lawn, so I guess we had an SVX Meet.

John was totally suprised and at a loss for words. Some of the John's art work that he has on display in his house is truly fantastic.
I especially liked the SVX logos on Peter's bicycle. Peter said that the bike is now much faster. :D :D

We all feasted on MD crabs & beer (thanks Trish)and told tall SVX stories into the night. A great time was had by all.

Harry was going to take Mike and Ron to autocross the following morning. Hope they did well.

Rosie and I left in the remnants of the hurricane and drove though the rain and darkness all the way home.
We had a wonderful time (thanks Trish & Harry).

PS: As soon as I finish the roll of film in the camera and get it developed (1-2 weeks), I'll post photos.

DARN! Wish I could've been there! Happy Bidet John! AND MANY MORE!!!

I'm still overwhelmed by this whole experience!!!

With my SVX family, the wine, beer, crabs, corn on the cob, burgers, etc., I didn't think there could be much else that could top this... that was until the cake showed up.

The cake had a gorgeous picture of my 96 Polo just after it had been washed. There was only a small window of opportunity when I wasn't around and before the cats had discovered the newly-cleaned place to sit.
The photo was photographically reproduced onto the large sheet cake, similar to the ones at the Lafayette dinner. It was amazingly faithful to the photo and no one wanted me to cut into the photo. We all had cake from around the edges.

I received the SVX pace car poster and some Asti wine from Larry and Rosie, Another bottle of West Virginia wine from Don and Jean, a set of SAE, metric, and Torx allen wrenches from Harry, A Craftsman racheting screwdriver set from Rufus, and a few cool items from Ron, including a neon pink bucket, for me to stand on the street corner with, emblazoned with the phrase "Will work for SVX parts", and a pair of lighted green dice to hang from my mirror.

In spite of the potential severe weather we were expecting from Charley, we had a wonderful time. There was only a light rain to contend with and our spirits couldn't have been dampened no matter what.

John, Ron, Don, Mike, & Harry

The winning numbers for the POWERBALL lottery on Saturday are:

4_10_11_18_43_ 41(Powerball)

Don't rip up the ticket. If you have 3 numbers or the powerball number the ticket is worth $3.

PS: If anyone won the $94 million, they owe me a low carb doughnut and a cup of coffee.:D :D

Happy Birthday John. Sounds like you had a great one. It would be nice if Trish get a picture of you on the corner with you little bucket in action. :D

If you thought Charlie was bad, wait till Earl gets there! :D :D :D

A great time was had by all, and I have NEVER seen John so lost for words! I just wish I had my camera out when we pulled up - it was a total surprise to him. You see Trish had told him she was having "some of her friends from work over":D .

And how about a pic of the birthday boy?

There, I finally got it - notice in the previous pic that there was a bonfire on top of the cake ;)

Here is one of the cake and the SVX photo on it. Well done, Trish!!

Does the SVX on the far left have some sort of a disease:confused:

It apears to be infected with Ford:D

Safely back home....(thanks to Ford!)

Amazing....a little dose of "SVT" can cure anything! :D

Jean and I got back home about 9:45 this evening (Monday).
We bagged 7 new lighthouses as we went east from Ron's place, thru Annapolis, Cape Henlopen, Ocean City, then we spent the night just above the Maryland-Virginia border. Today it was Assateague and down the Delmarva, across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel to Norfolk, then back home via Richmond, Charlottesville, Lexington and Lewisburg.

John, we had a blast. You have a wonderful family, a cool home and it was very special to be a little part of your big 6 - 0!
Hope you enjoy the outstanding West Virginia wine.
(If you don't like it......I've never seen it before in my life.:D )

All the best....Don and Jean

PS Ron, thanks again for letting us crash at your place! Hope you
and Harry tore up the track Sunday! We got into rain late that afternoon, and then early this morning. After that, it was beautiful.

Yes we did, Don. We also tore up our Powerball tickets, as they weren't as good as LarryIII promised. Our old pal SVXit showed up at the autocross with his A8 & chauffered all of us to noon cuisine at Mickey Dee's. After the day's rubber burning, John & I went over to SVXit's place to view a short DVD called "Rendevous", which involved a Ferrari? with a fender mounted camera doing about 90mph through the early morning streets of Paris without once T-boning a garbage truck.

...glad you & Jean made it home safely through the kinder, gentler Charlie.

Ron.
