hmmm

I looked in my manual and could not find out how to take off the top panel by the moon roof to replace the bulbs that light up the words just wondering if you found out how to do it yet?

Darn it, I forgot, Cap'n. I'll look it up in my service manuals tonight (if my aging memory doesn't fail me again), if someone hasn't advised you beforehand. Sorry -- I'm getting feeble in my advancing years. :D

You don't have to - they heal by themselves.

No, really. The right-hand button lights went out in my car for about a month right after I bought it. Then they came back on and have been fine since. :D

Cap'n -- compliments of MorIBNR:

The lights for the buttons are replaceable. Do a search here and you will find instructions. Basically, remove the covers of the spot lights - pry them out carefully. You will see two bolts remove them. The whole unit is now removable. Disconnect the wiring harness. Here my memory is a little foggy, but there are two screw sockets behind the buttons - they have slots in them. Turn and remove. The very small bulbs are attached to these sockets. Go to Radio Shack and buy a package of 12 volt, 60mA Micro Lamps - #7219 - they are cheap. Remove one bulb by undoing the wire, and replace. Use the other one as a guide as to how to thread the wires. (Don't forget the green "condoms" for the bulbs - they just come off the old ones - you wouldn't want those things reproducing - you would have little lamps all over the place in a matter of days.)

Trim the excess wire. Repeat for the other one. Voila - you are done (except for reassembly.)
