Cheap aftermarket wheels

While in my local NTB to get new tires, I saw that they had a special on aluminum wheels at $99 for all 4. It's the Z Racing Type 42 wheel on their website, though I would prefer the 5 spoke version. This seems like a good deal for backup or snow tires if nothing else, since wheels generally cost more than that price each! I'm planning to go take another look after work to see if I can live with the ricer look on my SVX.

BTW: The tires I got were the Sumitomo HTR+ Z rated for $98 each. I wasn't looking for Z rated tires, but they were cheaper than the Yokohama and Dunlops plus a longer mileage warranty. They seem very quiet too compared to my old A540s.

I had A540's on until a year ago when I changed to Dunlop SP5000's. The difference was amazing. I never realized the SVX was that quiet. By comparison, it was like a truck before.

$99 for 4 wheels?? Does that go for 16x7.5 or 16x8? That's cheaper than steel wheels and they look pretty nice too. I'd prefer 5 spokes but I've seen those wheels on an SVX before and they look sharp!

They didn't specify the dimensions, but did say that it was listed as compatible with the SVX in the wheel manufacturer's database. I didn't make it tonight but will try to tomorrow for a second look. I'm just not too keen on the branching spoke pattern.

National Tire & Battery

http://www.ntb.com

FYI: The 5 spoke version is not the same as the one on the website. It is thinner and flat as opposed to rounded edges.

The Price is Right...

KuoH....Is that price for those wheels just at your local store or is it in all their stores? They look like the answer for winter wheels for my Focus.... I couldn't seem to find the answer on their website. I think I will call their Roanoke store tomorrow.... Don

I had my stock wheels re-manufactured.

Had them straightened ($110) and then sandblasted and powdercoated ($300, two coats color, one coat clear). Painted the center caps myself. Pics in my locker.

Re: The Price is Right...

I saw the sign in a store here in Kansas City and asked them about it, but I don't know about other cities. Best thing would be to call them in the morning. If the price is not nationwide, maybe you can call the ones here and order some?
