unwelcome visitors

Had a knock at the door last Friday. Some "irish gentlemen" http://www.alcyone.org.uk/piekeys.jpg
Gesturing towards our SVX collection and wanting to know if they could scrap "those old cars" parked outside our house. A bit cheeky if you ask me. :mad::ninja:

Needless to say we sent them away and double-checked the padlock on the gate.

No, that would be "gun crime" in the UK. I don't know how it's really different from other crime, but they have gun crime, knife crime, etc. My dad is from Coventry, and I'd like to go back and visit with him one of these days, but he went back last year and said he'd need a few years to recover from the trip- he hadn't been back since about 1974 previously :).

Yeah, you're right. It's pretty much impossible to legally own a gun in the UK nowadays. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

I live in New Hampshire USA- our state motto is "Live Free Or Die" and we take it seriously :lol:. Not as seriously as Texas and Florida in relation to home protection (you can legally shoot a trespasser dead in those two states). We have to be in grave fear of personal safety :).
