Any oil pump Problems?

Well I have an oil leak that is the front crank seal. I plan on changing the seal when I do the timing belt. What I am not sure about is doing the oil pump at the same time. Here is why. The XT6 had problems with oil pumps and after awhile the valve lifters would get noisy. I had a problem on my 97 OBS where oil pump was bad after about 90k miles. The plate in the back of the rotor had come loose and this pushed the oil out of the pump housing. So I was thinking about changing the oil pump just to see what kind of wear is inside it and also to have a spare one down the road. I also do not want to find out the oil seal is pushed out when I get in there. I want some other opinions.

My car has 150k miles on it that are mostly highway miles. I think the oil pump is one of those components that is effected more by highway driving.

Has any one had a problem with the SVX oil pump?

Has anyone had the oil seal pushed out of the oil pump?

My engine has been making this low thud thud knocking sound... I have been thinking about having the oil pump replaced to be safe, but im not sure what its gonna cost me.
I recall a lady posting on the network that her engine went bad due to a faulty oil pump. I think it was around 80k.

My oil pump leaks on the highway, but when the car's parked, I don't notice a drip. I would say replace it.

My 1 drop every 2 days "oil" leak was fixed by doing the power steering O-ring replacement.

Something else to check

It may be the o-ring behind the oil pump that's leaking. This is my first Subaru after years of domestic cars and I only recently found out our oil pump is outboard, not in the sump.
