Yipee - Gas Prices Start Going Down

The local Shell station and the Exxon station across the street are having a good old fashioned price war for gasoline. They are selling premium gasoline at $1.789 per gallon.

Most of the other local stations are selling premium gas at $1859 - $1899 per gallon.

I usually go to the Shell station because he still has pressurized air for the tires for free. No quarters needed to pump up the tires.

Gotta love that free air!! :D

I keep a portable air compresser in the trunk of my SVX at all times. The subs I have in the trunk prevent me from getting access to the spare tire anyway.

93 Octane - - - $1.449
Williams, Junction of I64 and S41, south of Fort Branch, Indiana.
Come on down (up, whatever. :D )

David,

Why do you have submarines in the trunk of your car? Is this the new stealth Canadian Navy that we've been hearing about lately ?:D :D :D

PS: My spare tire is accessible all the time. I keep it around my waist.

Gas prices falling

I don't know about that Sheetz gas. It seems that when ever I've gotten a tank full of the stuff b/c it was cheap I always seem to get about 20-30 miles less on that tank of gas. Assuming that is about a gallon that means that the gas would need to be at least $.10 cheaper or so for it to even out. Then again, I may be just driving crazy on that tank too.

gas prices?

I dunno about you guys, but our prices are still the same. The cheapest gas I put in my car, is from Shell or 76, 91 for $2.25.

Strangly enough the other gas stations sometimes even more expencive then these two.

i get about 20mpg on average, and around 28-30 if it's all hwy... on sheetz gas.

and on the note of price, it is mroe than 10c cheaper, the nearest competitor has it for around 1.729

I was just seeing if anyone else had the same experience. I get about 17mpg with the stuff on all most all city driving with filling up about once a month or 6 weeks. Its not just Sheetz but pretty much all the non-brand name gas stations like Turkey Hill, Wawa, etc. It just seems that the gas burns quicker in my car. Even with Mobil/exxon I don't get much better. Hess and Synoco I get about 30 miles more on the odo. My Impreza was the same way.

On the other hand both my Brat and XT6 run better and get better mileage with the off brand gases. Not being a gas expert I'm guessing that its b/c of the lack of additives and such in these gases but since most of the gas comes from the same refineries regardless of brands I don't know.

NomadTW 04-10-2003 09:17 PM

there used to be a place that had 100octane unleaded at the pumps, but then they got bought by some big conglomerate...

huck369 04-11-2003 05:36 AM

Most the main brands are $1.619 here, BP, Citgo, Shell, Cheveron
