I will approach the Morgantown Holiday Inn again and try to secure a group rate for a block of rooms. But I need a better idea of the number who are actually actually coming

Since there has been absolutely no interest or response to this thread, I have once again abandoned the idea of trying to secure a block of rooms at a discounted rate, with all the advantages it offered in the past, such as:

• Guaranteed availability of rooms in the same area of the hotel..
• No advance pre-payment or charges or holds against your credit card. Only used in case of a no-show. Charges are made only AFTER you check out.
• Cancellation without penalty up until 6PM on the day of arrival

There will be NO block of reserved rooms being held.

So everyone wanting to attend Reading 19
will now be individually responsible for calling in and
securing their own accommodations.

Make them at your own convenience on your own timeline, at whatever hotel you choose. Use one of the booking sites such as

Use whatever discounts you can, like AAA, AARP, Rewards cards, etc.
(Remember, the cheapest rate may not be refundable, required payment in full at time of booking, have cancellation restrictions, etc.)

Definitely not as convenient as book early-and-forget, as we have done in the past. If you couldn't make it at the very last minute, a simple phone call to the hotel to cancel is all it took.

Will there be any planned activity. Or is this just hang out in the parking lot for a few days. My girlfriend said she would go. I don’t want to just go and sit in the room

There's the Carlisle Import Nationals that weekend, but it's a bit of a hike from Morgantown. A couple of closer car shows that might make for a nice cruise. I suggest to keep checking back because stuff might get added.

If anyone wanted to go, the Reading Phillies will be at home that entire weekend. Not as much for the game, but it's an activity local that people could go to if they wanted to.

I will be coming up for sure Saturday. I may stay Saturday night into Sunday, but I am only 35 miles away so I'm not fully sure yet.

Is there any way to tell how many of us got which hotel (for the ones who did already)? I would like to get my hotel now but if no one is gonna be at the Holiday Inn, then I may just settle for a cheaper place.

For almost 20 years, this meet has been at the Holiday Inn. Even if you stayed at other hotels or just came for the day, the majority of activities and members congregate at the Holiday Inn.

As far as hotels go, this thread seems to suggest that no one has committed to rooms yet. A far cry from Readings past.

The R-Phils (or as they are gaggingly known now, "The Fightins") are a AA Phillies farm team. On any given night, a major leaguer on the mend might be on the field. Even in their absence however the venue, sights, sounds, attractions PLUS OMG there's a ballgame going on, all add up to a pretty darn fun time for pretty darn cheap. Oh it is family friendly as all get out. Good recommendation!
