Performance

hey,

Why are different SVX's rated at different speeds. The 92 was rated at 15.5 quarter and 7.3 0-60. The 94 was rated at 16.2 quater and 8.7 0-60. Why is there such a big difference?

Subafreak 03-26-2003 07:29 PM

Because the 92's are the best.

CARLiTO_ 03-26-2003 07:49 PM

haha..

MNYPNNY 03-26-2003 07:55 PM

That's right! 92s rule!

Performance wise yes the 92's are the best and anyone will tell you a first year new production car(92svx) will have the most problems. Im happy with my 96

The 92's did not have a rev limiter built into the ECU like the later years did, so they will turn more RPM's to ring out a few more ponies.

Huck, are you sure about that? I mean, I know that the '92s and '93s don't have electronic speed limiters like the '94 and later cars, but I've never heard of the '92s not having rev limiters.

Either way, I am very happy with my 95.... Even though it has a messed up tranny right now....

Paxton71 03-27-2003 08:01 AM

Rev limiter

My 1992 (built 11/1991)

DOES have a rev limiter. It kicks in at 6,500 Trust me. :)

Now it doesn't have a speed limiter.

It seems pretty fast (for an SVX)

I completely agree, man. I love my SVX, even if it's no dragstrip machine. I bought it understanding what it was.

They are. They add character to the car and build the character of the owner. ;) :p

Hey, Alan - did you see that BMW has co-opted the landshark theme for the new Z4 ad campaign? You 928 guys gonna sue?

It was just an assumption on my part, as this is a common way to limit top end.

Huck is right I think technically.

Personal experience wise, 92 will launch like a bat out of hell compare to the 94+ SVXes FWD or AWD.
