Blizzard Nemo

No Fish here, just Oceans of SNOW. Nearly 30 inches and still snowing like crazy, drifts six feet high on side of house, CRAZY. Havent seen it this bad since 78 Blizzard.

We didn't get anything in Harrisburg, but I am going to Connecticut on Monday so hopefully the roads will be clear by then.

i guess they'll wait until summer to start the "Global Warming" talk.

....and when did we start giving snowstorms a name? do rainstorms get names, too?

Re: Blizzard Nemo

Milford, CT gets the title as highest Snow total, a whopping 38 inches. I measured 33 inches in a few level spots in my yard:eek:

Re: Blizzard Nemo

We only got about 6-8 inches up here but it made for some excellent skiing.
A little south and west of here got more than a foot with heavy winds.
The 401 East, the biggest highway in Ontario was closed for about 7 hours because of crashes.

Isn't naming storms a great way for climate change pundits to come back and say something like "Nemo was the biggest storm in NE history". Makes great press. So far it is ranking #5, last time I checked and, the disappointment is showing on the TWC reporters.

My sister said one of her friends in Shelton measured 40" in their yard. That's worse than 78 but the really heavy totals are isolated to that one area from Milford up through Shelton. The pictures are amazing.

Re: Blizzard Nemo

You guys are so lucky! We only got about 14 inches here
And it's all going to melt on monday...

Plowed over 30 driveways today

Re: Blizzard Nemo

Are the roads and highways open in Conn yet?

SVX92-97 02-10-2013 07:49 AM

Re: Blizzard Nemo

Roads are open, but DOT spokesman said on local news that they are far from adequate. Four lane highways are just two lane highways, one lane in each direction. There talking several days to a week to make all lanes clear and passable. Tons and Tons of Snow. Jackpot was 40 inches in Hamden, CT where I work. Have a safe trip and take it slow, dont forget your sunglasses, the glare is incredible.
