Stereo MESS

Hello everyone. So I have a question. I pulled the aftermarket deck out that was in my car, and Im going to replace it with a different one. But now, Im left with all the wires cut (the harness is gone) Does someone out there have a diagram as to what wires do what? I dont know why a harness wasnt used with the install of the last stereo, but whats done is done. Someone please help me out. Pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Dennis

There is a link in SVXdc's profile/signature.

the wires were cut because until someone on this board decided to make connectors that was the only option if you wanted an aftermarket stereo. I had to do the same thing as i couldnt afford nor needed to have the plug. Good luck with the radio swap. Ask if you have any other questions.

I would get the stock plug for the harness and then go from there. You can at least get it back to what the wires are supposed to be. :) :)

Unfortunatly the harness was cut long before I got the car, I've had great succesing installing new stereos using 10mm male blade terminals and pushing them into the stock harness by hand.

May I ask why you are going to all the trouble? If you restore those speaker connections and have the deck drive the speakers (as opposed to the component amp) you'll have less sounds quality.

I would use something more common than a stock SVX plug, like a GM or Ford one. Or a standard one that doesn't need an adapter harness.

Since the wires have already been cut, the best thing to do is solder them to the harness that came with the stereo and then insulate with heatshrink.

Well, I want to replace the deck. This one is having problems playing even regular cd's. And it wont even think about reading an mp3 cd.

And Im going to put in a Honda harness over the SVX one, more common, and it will be easier the next time I would want to do something.
