Possible, but they're not alone - the 1974 Ford Coins (Ghia) looks a lot like the 1970 Stratos (Bertone)!

Many interesting Ford concepts <here>.

Looks like the 2005 Ford Fairlane Prototype became the 2009 Ford Flex.
