My SVX Purchase

:( Im getting concerned about the person that I am purchasing my 94 LSi from, I have mostly dealt with the co-signer on the title, which is the son of the two. This is somewhat complex because I am selling a 90 Ford Bronco Soft-Top to the son that I am buying the SVX from. He said that he was buying the Bronco with his buddy and that I could go ahead and sell my Jeep Cherokee. So tonight I sold my Jeep, only because I would get the SVX soon after. The "buddy" that is buying the bronc with, said that he doesn't have the money right now, so of course the guy just said "we'll figure something out". So I replied with how about I just give you the title to the Bronco and pay you the rest with the money that I just sold MY TRANSPORTATION FOR! That makes sense right?? Then of course comes in the dad, the son said that he didn't think that his dad would go for that but he would talk him out of it. So baiscally I just sold my ride (which was a nice car, but I wanted the SVX so I sold it), I know I'll get the SVX but this selling the Bronco bit has me concerned. What are your suggestions?? I know this sounds like it should be on Riki Lake or Judge Judy or some sh1t but Im very... well.... pissed off.

ANY suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance - Todd

Does anyone here have a clue, or did I just open a bad box 'o vino?
Jeez...

Ron (You say the semi-owner doesn't have the money, therefore your Bronco was traded to the Mets for a future draft pick???)

1. Found this KILLER SVX, with low miles and the owner took great care of it, every recipt down to the oil changes. IMMACULATE. Talked him down to $4,700 for a 94 LSi with 92k,4k on new tranny, 8mo/old ps pump, 600miles on new rotors and tires.1
2. Test Drove it, talked a while and he said he was looking for a bronco, I told him I was selling a bronco.
3. He came over and tested out my bronco, siad that he and his friend definitly wanted it and to go ahead and sell my jeep to get the rest of the cash. But that the Bronco would be a seperate deal from the svx. Because the SVX was really his dads finanical decision.
4. Sold my Jeep. Out of a car that runs (bronco needs work)
5. Called him up that night and told him I had the rest of the moeny and that lets do the SVX/Bronco tommorow, he says,"my buddy doesn't have the money right now"
6. I told him that I was depending on that to get the SVX and the he told me to sell it. I also told him that I'm out of a car that I can drive! He said well we will figure something out. I'll call you after I get out of work tomorrow.
7. I said," OK, well you just take my $3k and my Bronco cause you were going to give me $1,700 for the bronco and we will call it even.
8. He said that the bronco had to be seperate from the SVX and that the SVX was his dad's deal, so untill I can sell my bronco for at least $1,700 I don't have a friggin car.

9. I want to shoot the guy, but dont.

10. (next) I shoot...

Please Respond with any suggestions, I am in dire need of an automobile and can't wait for my SVX. The guy broke a commitment that wasn't written anywhere, so does that just mean I'm screwed (don't say yes, even if you mean it)

Thanks in advance for all of you suggestions and help.

The Dad owns the SVX so you have to deal with him for the car. I hope you have another way to get to work.:(

Can you borrow the last $1700 from the bank using the SVX as collateral? Then just pay off the loan when you sell the Bronco.

Even with terrible credit (not saying that you do), you should be able to borrow $1700 against a car worth 3 or four times as much. Interest may be high, but it is a short term loan. Then if the friend doesn't buy the Bronco by a certain date, advertise it in the paper.

Do you have the guy's DAD's phone number? Call and talk to him and let him know what his son has done. Does the dad even know that his son is selling his car? Hmmm. The plot thickens.

seems like you got the car. Tell us what happened.

Welcome to the network

I'm wondering why the dad is selling so soon after putting in all these supposedly new parts?

Scott,
Are you familiar with Woodhouse Nissan in Bellvue? They have a 97 with a little over 10K miles on it, for only 8,900.00. Sounds too good to be true! I may have to find a reason to visit my Stepson in Omaha. "Hey, honey. Wanna go visit the grandkids?" I'm sure she wouldn't refuse. :D:D:D

ensteele 04-23-2003 02:52 PM

Randy - I'll go visit your grandkids! ;) :D

wawazat?? 04-23-2003 02:55 PM

No Earl..................

Step away from the SVX and no one's bank account gets hurt!:p

We're gonna start thinking of you like the old woman with WAY too many cats. She's nice and all, but a little off..........:D

Todd (secretly, well, OK NOT so secretly jealous of you collection)
