Damn Seatbelts

What's up ya'll. My seatbelt needs either too much time to go up when I open the door, or does it instantly when the ignition is on. Someone did the remote started for my car like 2 weeks ago, but I noticed it slowing down from before then. Any ideas?

Have you added or changed anything else with the electrical system in the car? I'm wondering if there might be something that is causing a slow power drain on your car's electric system. A slow drain would explain why the seat belt system operates normally once the car is running.

It is possible that the addition of the remote start system added a little more load on the electrical system and is just magnifying an issue that may have persisted for a while.

I was having a problem with sluggish starts for a while in my '92 and I found that my radar detector was never shutting off because i left it plugged into a 12v power outlet I added that was tied right to the battery and not to the ignition (got my yellows and reds backwards).

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Yea, I also think it's from this new remote starter, somehow. I have an undersized battery for the car (was installed when I bought the car). Do you think I should replace it to a regular sized SVX battery?

I would recommend stepping up to the Optima Red Top. I think most people here will agree that those batteries are the best battery investment you can make. I don't know if you have any of these stores around where you live, but Auto Zone carries the Red Tops here.

I don't remember exactly how much I paid for mine, but I think it was between $120 and $140

Although I don't have the Optima battery..It's best to use a quality battery with enough CCA... especially if you are upgrading the sound system and have security, etc.
