Rear bearings...
are these any good... http://replacement.autopartswarehous...0Assy.&dp=true its cheaper than.... http://replacement.autopartswarehous...aring&dp=false

thats a good question... i would guess that maybe (big maybe because im trying to make sence of this) that the assly. price is only for one unit and the bearing is for both sides... but i have no idea
|
they would be easier to replace i would think...
|
thats true it looks like it doesnt need the use of a press w/ the assembly
|
My guess is that is a stock photo they use for all of their units. I do not recall how the hub looks on the SVX, but I HIGHLY doubt you can get an entire hub assembly for that cheap. It is the bearing only with a misrepresentative photo.

perdy sure it wouldnt say ahhhhheeemm cough wheel bearing assembly but ill call and post back because that would be a hella lot easier. buy 2 sets so that you dont have to do so much work in a weekend etc, change the grease in one set put it on then when ya have time do the other so you have it on hand, mabie it will be good luck and they will never go out again!

Those part numbers, 516003 and 517007, are for the bearing assembly only, not the hub. You'll need two of each to do the whole car. If you enlarge the photo you'll see the disclaimer, it's just a representative photo, not of the actual parts.
Personally, I would not put Timken bearings on any of my cars. BCA, NTN or Subaru bearings would be my choice. Go to http://www.rockauto.com/ BCA bearings are priced as follows: 516003: $54.89 517007: $41.79 |
Are there anyother parts that we have to order while ordering rear wheel bearings (OEM). It would be great if someone can post the list of parts that we need to order while changing rear wheel bearings.

Inner Seal - $6.75 x 1 Outer Seal - $8.23 x 1 Thanks, Jackie Annapolis Subaru 443-837-1422 This is a price quote. It has not been that long ago, so it should still be good. I don't think you could do any better on Subaru OEM parts. Just give her a call and of course she knows the part numbers. Subaru actually recommends replacing the hub nut also, but that is actually up to you. Lee |

SVXer95 was trying to hlep you by answering your question. You may not like his answer, but he's speakin' the truth. I have done a rear wheel bearing and I can tell you a couple of things. 1) Even if you did get the entire hub assembly, it still has to be pressed out of the knuckle 2) The picture is not an SVX hub assembly If you have bearing questiosn feel free to PM and I'll offer whatever help I can. There is a full wheel bearing how to in my locker. |
