A little more research shows it has the origional 2.1 expanded to a 2.5, sounds mean though...

Stateside we didn't have very many choince of powerplants, you could get the 90hp 2.1 (preceded by the 1.9wbx and 2.0 airhead) or you could walk :( except for 81-83 when the little na diesel 1.6 was availible, but that needs to be replaced with something newer since the base model was lucky to see 60mph on flat ground :(:(:( I liked the south african 5 cylinders too, and their big brakes!
