opinion on rs coup

I'm thinking of purchasing a 2000 Impreza coup with an 97 sti ra swap, any opinion or advice I should be aware of.

If it's got the STi trans, then it'll have really short, close gearing.
Have a look at this chart: http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs...rannychart.pdf

A lot of the 90s STi 5-speeds are not at all highway-friendly. I bet it's a beast on the track though.

Is it a full STI swap? Or just the trans? If it's a full swap, the major factor would be the person that did the swap. Are they able to help work on any problems that arise? Are you able to fix it yourself? Many garages will not want to touch a vehicle with a major swap done.

The local Subaru dealer pissed and moaned when I took Melissa's SVX that has a phase 2 trans in for an alignment.

Should be a blast in that case. :)

Idk about Norway, but in the US we pronounce it "coop". We also pronounce Porsche "porsh" though.

But is still spelled "coupe." And $8500 for an STi swapped Impreza 2.5rs Coupe is good!

^^ This.

I was looking for one before I got my svx.. couldn't even find a good one for 8k without a swap..

I had crashed my 2001 2.5RS coupe, looked all over for one I could buy with the insurance money.. no luck.
I ended up an svx owner, as I wanted a Subaru coupe again.

Porsche is correctly pronounced "Porshe" with the latter vowel something in between "e as in ever" and the french 'ieu' as in "adieu".

As a european, I assure you there's absolutely nothing snobbish about pronouncing these words "euro-style".

Someone on the internets said:

"What's the difference between a Porsche and a hedgehog? In the Porsche, the pricks are on the inside". Judging from the driving style of local Porsche owners, it's not really true. BMW and VAG drivers are far much worse.

Also, best of luck with the scoob, sounds like a fun car!
