Auto-x mini season....
Well.... I just finished (fingers crossed) my car a few minutes ago. I have a frayed belt and a slightly wobbly PS pulley, but for some freakish reason it gets smoother as RPM's increase. The methanol is done, but I have nothing to put in the tank:mad:... I have everything packed up including a spare belt:o. My schedule from here is:
September 20th, Renegade Miata Ft Devens Auto-x October 4th, Renegade Miata Ft Devens Auto-x October 25th, Pumpkin Carve Not quite the 10 races that I wanted to do this year but, oh well.... Next year:rolleyes: |
Re: Auto-x mini season....
All done and the car held together even with the slightly wavering pulley. The car actually ran the best it ever has and pulled like I have never felt it before. I was having a hard time keeping it planted on the lukewarm pavement. I think a search for a set of race tires is the next item on the list....
The course was 1.15 miles long and set up by the New England Miata club and therefore EXTREMELY technical (designed for those zoom zoom go carts). My times were: (AM runs)149.766 clean,131.902 off course, 135.663 off course, 131.138 clean (PM runs) 137.488 clean, 136.261 clean, 138.621 +1 cone, 140.155 +3 cones |
Re: Auto-x mini season....
How does one get set up to run in the auto cross events. Do you have to be a club member of some sort or is it just pay and go? Been looking into getting into some type of auto-x for a while...I dont check here very often so either reply here or hit me with a pm if i forget to check threads

Re: Auto-x mini season....
You need to be either a member of scca, rengade miata club, or new england bmw club in order to run with the miata club. I am registered for the last auto-x of the season on oct 4th. You can swing by if you would like....
