Looking for SVX Specialist in Maryland

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew a good SVX mechanic in Maryland or its neighboring states. I bought my baby a couple months ago and it needs a lot of work. I could try to get this stuff done with a regular mechanic, but it’d be better if I could find someone familiar with the SVX.

Bellow is a list of what I need done, if you know anyone or have any suggestions please let me know:

-The windshield needs to be replaced (I’m still crying over Subarus quote)
(Tried calling a junk yard and the bastards broke the windshield taking it out >_<, and every shop I go to says they’re not liable if they break a used windshield during installation.)

-Timing Belt and Water Pump (They’re fine at the moment but since the cars over 100k I want to get them replaced)

-Stainless steel brake line installation

-New exhaust system (piping and all)

SVX files could do everything except the windshield. He's got plenty of experience making custom exhausts from mild to well just plain loud for the SVX. He's over in Cumberland, Md.

Yeah windshields are quite pricey which makes it essential to keep glass coverage on the car (about $15 a year!). If you wanna pull a windshield yourself I know of where there is one. Its definately not a lot of fun though as you need to pull the windshield and seal as one since you can't just buy a sea.

welcome to the Maryland SVX family! I'm down in Dunkirk (Calvert County) ~ 30 minutes from Lanham. Unfortunately, after several years of SVX ownership, I haven't found anyone in the local area that I trust to do SVX work and not charge an arm and a leg. SVXFiles has done most of the "major" work on my car - the only drawback being that he's about a 3 hour drive up 270 and across on 70W/68. I've done the SS brake lines myself. Any muffler shop that does custom work should be able to handle your exhaust system. I'd definitely go to someone who knows SVXi to do the timing belt!

Tom (SVXFiles) will probably see this thread (if he isn't on his new garage's roof nailing down shingles:rolleyes: ) so he might just drop you a PM. If not, you can always send him a PM (click on the User CP feature in the menu bar of the Network and then click on Send Message)

Try Heritage Subaru in Owings Mills (Baltimore 'burb) for competent work.

Ron.
