manual gearbox owner question

i was wondering what everyone or anyone is using to reduce noise where the shift stick is? sometimes the noise isn't that bad and sometimes it really rattles.
thanks

If it really "Rattles" then you probably need new shifter bushings, or the little spring on the shifter to hold it off to one side.
If everything is as it should be, the shifter should not rattle at all.

Also it will rattle if the bushings are overtighened in there as well. Some slop is good, no slop or too much slop means rattling! I'd go with Hucks diagnosis unless the bushings were replaced on the swap or were retightned when shortening or lenthening the shifter rod.
