Headlight Protectors Commitment Page.

If we get 25 people commited (at least $50 upfront, to have them made), we can get Dayle to mold up a batch of these super awesome headlight protectors for the SVX. Guesstimate of $85 total final price.

Final product will be clear (without lines) and I believe he is thinking of making a tinted version as well. This network has serious commitment issues, but heres hoping I get 25 names on this list.

Once this list hits 25, he will notify the mold maker. We will then be expected to send in $50 each to have the production started.

Please dont fill up this thread with Q's about them. use the search bar, its been covered.

James, will the repro's have the rubber "feet" to offset them from the actual lenses? If so, I'm in. What will these be molded in? (lexan or plastic or what? Concerned about yellowing...)

I hate you mike. And I thought this was pretty bread and butter.

To answer your question, I dont know.

But I think the rubber used is basicly the same stuff you can get at any hardware/walmart. The self sticky dots for furniture/lamps/jewelry boxs whatever.

So even if it doesnt come with the rubber dots, then we can just go get a pair ourselves for 2 bucks.

not trying to be a party pooper but what point is it having these if your lights already look like crap? I know they can be polished up and all but that is a temp fix.

The point is to protect headlights to keep them from getting crappier. There are remedies to permanently restore moderately blemished headlamps well. There are also the new of us who have or are planning to replace our headlamps.;)

PS: WTF YOU FINALLY BOUGHT AN SVX? You bought Ben's?

They also hold the potential for those who like the 'black out' look. I have considered buying 2 pair, and tinting a pair of them w/ titanium mirror tint to match my windows. thought it might look good. Just tossin ideas. Personally, I want them because I have glass headlights.

Some one should convince ensteele that he absolutely needs a pair for every car he has...

Just to make this have more of a chance of succeeding, I'm willing to put up $200. thats 4 peoples names. I will buy 4, and either sell privately, or let dayle keep them and give me store credit once he sells them off to some one else.

20 more to go people. 20% of the way there.

Re: Headlight Protectors Commitment Page.

I'll be in for two sets, I recently purchased new OEM headlamps and it is my theory that over the years road debris nicking the plastic and removing whatever coating is on it, makes the headlamp more exposed to yellowing over the years. So I think these added protective lenses will prolong the life of the lamps.

Now if we can also get one for the mock light on 92's, also....

yes and yes. I would not have offered my opinion as just a bystander. I am an owner and this is how I feel (mostly cause I have crappy yellow lights) :barf:

Unless they have some sort of UV protection to protect the headlights behind them wouldn't your headlight still yellow anyway?

How dark would the black tinted covers be? I would be interested in a set of those. Do we have to send the $50 up front?
