Bodyman needs tech help

Hello all. First of all thanks for the great site. Seems you guys really know your SVX.

Anyway I just purchased a 92 LS-L That I believe has a slipping tranny. It has 108,000 miles. I sold a 03 mustang gt paid of a bill and bought this thing on e-bay. I must say I love this car If I would have known how great this was I would have sold the mustang years ago. This car is completely stock and needs a little TLC so I figure if I'm going to fix it I want to make it better at the same time. So my question is what would you suggest for a daily driver. From what Ive heard the 4.44 swap sounds like the first step. what should I look for in the Tranny (95-98 Legacy) Is the underdrive pully worth doing. What would the ECUTUNE chip do for me (will I feel the difference) I have done a lot of mechanical work but I am a body man and as such don't know all the tech stuff involved especially when it comes to auto trannys.

thank you for all the advice in advance.

Welcome to the site. There are many thoughts on the best way to go, whether it is a 5 speed MT, or a rebuilt tranny or going to the 4.44 or staying with the stock ratio. You can so some searches of past topics and I am sure there will be many posts on these topics. Good luck and I hope you have fun with your first SVX. :) I am sure it will not be your last. :D :D

If your talking about what i think your tlaking about, your ECU TUNE CHIP from ebay is nothing more than a resistor adjusting your A/F ratio. It does NOT add 25hp, and can do more harm than good in most cases.

no, he is talking about the company ECUtune that makes all of our SVX tunning chips. Mike had also made my stage III supercharger. Check em out...www.ecutune.com
