NOPI Nationals in GA, possible meeting?
 

Hey guys,

I've been talking to a representative with NOPI about their upcoming Nationals Car Show, He REALLY wants to see some SVXes come, seems to really want to know more about them. There are a lot of contests and such, and he is going to look into even having SVX -Specific awards and such. I thought I would run the idea by all of you guys, I've been wanting to have a meeting anyway, how about we all turn this into a HUGE SVX meeting, - anyone and everyone with an SVX!!

I'm up for it if the SVX isnt in the shop getting modds. I want to make the group cruise from the NY area.

When are the NOPI nationals? I could bring the SVreX and perhaps a finished 5 spd, depending on the dates.

What types of contests? Any 1/4 miling? Autocrossing?

I was there last year... But this year, I have no SVX :(:( Sorry, I don't think I'll beable to make it...

I think the Date is 9/18 or something. I'm sure that i'll be able to go, pending school.........:rolleyes: Should I go ahead and tell the Rep. to book us a spot there??

It is expensive to participate. Could be wrong, but I think it is nearly $85!

That's true... we entered my friend's WRX Wagon last year... He spent about $100 that weekend on stupid fees and stuff...

However if you've never seen the ESX WRX drag car and want to see it, go to this event... They were there last year and Porter and I managed to have dinner with them :D:D:D Pictures in my locker...

I just got a response from the guy from NOPI, here it is, answers the questions...

1. Are there any events, such as Auto-Crossing, Drag, etc.?

No...This is not part of our Drag race series. It’s a Car Show.

It has events like:

Head to Head to Head Triple Acton Burn-out

Sound Competition

Hydraulic

Drift

BFG Ride & Drive

Neon Contest

Swimsuit

Professional Female Jello Wrestling

Dyno Contest

NOPI CHIC Model Search



These events are mostly for entertainment. It’s supposed to be a FUN event.



2. What would be the cost to register our group?

It’s $70 to enter your car and you get 2 weekend passes. FYI – weekend spectator passes at the gate are $40 each. It’s less expensive to show your car than go to the show.



3. How many people would have to register for it to be a group?

2 or more but 2 would be a very small group.


4. How much does it cost per person?

See Above.

I want to park you guys in GREEN B (grass). That’s right next to the front entrance. If you want I could put you in YELLOW H (pavement) with the other Subarus but GREEN B is much better.

Keep in mind that there were over 7000 show vehicles and over 100,000 people. There is nothng like it on the planet. Over 300 vendors too. Over 400 classes in the car show. Everything kind of new generation car or truck is representated except SVX's.
