Urgent help please - radiator cap
 

Is this common with any other? 400 mile trip to do in 4 hrs and cap leaking!!

Have only just seen your post now, so my reply may be of no use for your trip.

However, for what it's worth; the SubaruParts site lists the cap at $10.

Part number for it is 45113GA022

Better news still, the same parts number works for a WRX 93 Impreza. This indicates that the cap is common. It's likely all their cooling systems work to the same pressure. If you can borrow or buy an Impreza cap, it will be likely to work. Probably a Legacy cap will work also, but I have no way of checking that.

Thanks Joe. Checked with Subaru agent and they said a 97 Impreza was the same. Went to local motor factors and the cap they had listed was for all Imprezas, rated at 13lbs. Used that and did the trip fine - went to take a mate to get his birthday present to himself. A fabulous red Maserati 3200. Sounded awesome. I declined a race!
