Teen Who Cant Afford His Car (*&^%$%&*)

Well everyone I have only one thing to say..... S*@% I live in Washington about 30 mins from Olympia. I own a 92 LS-L and I got it as a project car. Well now the car has to go. I cant afford to fix what needs to be fixed. ( TRANNY, MISC ENGINE WORK, REAR BEARINGS, AND SOME OTHER MISC WORK ) If there is ANYONE around here that would like a parts car ( no parts are missing ) or a project car I beg you to PLEASE let me know. I am asking 1,500 OBO for the car. Its a 92 Burgundy w/touring package. The car has around 195,000 miles on it. If you look at the pics in my locker of when I first got the car the dents are no longer there, the body work needs to be finished but some of it is done. The tranny sticks in one gear and it needs to be replaced. I havent driven it so I dont know how well it will drive but I would advise not to until it is replaced. The engine work that needs done is as follows (as far as I know) There is a gasket that leaks oil at the bottom of the engine block that is a MUST replace before it is driven. If the car is ran for 10 mins the oil will start to burn and will have ALOT of smoke comming out of the hood, also the belt pulley and belts need replaced, the pulley has a chip in it and when you first start to go about 5-7 mph there will be a grinding noise but after that it will stop. The rear wheel bearings have to be replace as well ( IT SOUNDS LIKE A JET ENGINE ) For any more info please PM me back. IF THIS CAR IS NOT SOLD IT WILL BE PUT IN OUR JUNK YARD WHERE IT WILL SIT FOR YEARS UNTIL IT IS CRUSHED TO BITS. THERE ARE ALOT OF GOOD PARTS IN THE CAR BUT IT WILL ONLY BE GOOD FOR A PARTS CAR OR A PROJECT CAR. (IT CANNOT BE DRVEN IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION) Thanks ~Dennis :(

Hi Dennis, sorry to hear the news. :(

Unfortunately that is the case sometimes, at least it sounds like you are making the right decision for you.

If you don't have any luck selling it as a whole car, as much as I hate to see another SVX die, I would recommend parting it out yourself. I might not otherwise suggest it, but when you say if you can't sell it you are just going to let it sit in the junkyard and rot, then it seems like you would have nothing to lose? There are always tons of vultures here wanting parts and you'd be able to get at least some money out of it before crusher time.

Again, would hate to see this, hopefully someone can buy it and restore it as a project car.

Well Im starting to have second thoughts... I guess ill keep the car and hope for the best. BTW does anyone near olympia or not too far from here have a rear spoiler for sale? I want one for my flat back ( I CANT STAND IT ). Other than that we are getting new tabs for it and having it looked at to get a cost on how much it will cost to fix all of the problems. What I need to do is have the engine taken out and cleaned up. I dont know i you have to do this anyways because of the bottom gasket or what but I want to do it. Then after that Im gonna just work on it piece by piece until it gets done. So all of you dont need to worry anymore about having another SVX go through a slow death.

Thanks ~Dennis
