VIN Decoded
When I was in Memphis, Leo wasn't exactly sure which model SVX he had. There may be others. So, I came across this little bit I'd typed from the manual to post on Yahoo some time ago. So, if you're not sure, here you go.
Let's say your VIN is as follows: JF1 CX343 X N H 100001 JF1 = Maker Identifier: A “JF1" is a "Passenger Vehicle" CX3: C = C "Series” X = Body Type (X=2-Door Coupe) 3 = Engine Type (3=3.3 Liter Engine) 4 = Model: 2 = Base Model 3 = L Model 4 = LS Model 5 = LS-L (or i) Model 3 = Weight Class, and restraint type Passenger Car : 1 = Without Passive Restraint 2 = With Passive Restraint 3 = With SRS & Passive Restraint X = Check Digit (0 through 9 and X varies) N = Model Year: (N ='92. Since I'm taking this info from the '92 Service Manual, it's the only designation shown). H = Transmission Type: B = 5MT (5-Speed Manual) G = Full Time AWD 5MT (5-Speed Manual w/AWD) H = Full time AWD 4AT (4-Speed Automatic w/AWD)) K = 4AT (4-Speed Automatic) 100001 = Vehicle Identification: (100001 and after = 2 door coupe). |

Question. JF1CX3231RK1... <= X323 is 3.3L, Base Model, with SRS & Passive Restraint And this says that Base Model is a LE thus, L is a model higher then Base model then? I have JF1CX3350RK1... <=X335 is 3.3L, Model L, with??? what? Can someone look it up and check for me pls. This seems interesting. Anyone else have X3x5 in their VIN? Lwin |

Thanks Eddycat.
I got the message. That's what the dealers said as well in person. But on their system, LE did show up. We have discussed this on yahoo. I will inform the others now. Lwin |
