i need the opinion of the peanut gallery
 

i purchased my '92 green SVX in january for $5200. it is the base AWD model with a new tranny, new struts, rebuilt front calipers and new tires. i had to put new rotors and pads on it, and it needed the PS o-ring replaced. last week i hit a deer. damage to the was limited to the hood, lights, hood lock and grill ( i thought). now the radiator is showing signs of leakage. the rest of the car is great. maybe a little to fast somtimes but mechanically very sound. so... to get to the point of this thread. im looking at $2200 dollars that i know about to get back to square one. should i? is it really worth it? or do i eat the loss and sell as is and start all over? well, what does the crew think? (please no requests for parts yet, but i will accept offers for the parts i need!)

$2200? No question. Fix it. (Though I can't imagine getting all that work done for that.) That is, if the condition before the incident was good.

I second this emotion. Were you not insured?

Unless you're a great salesperson, if you try to sell as is, you're going to have to take at least the $2200 needed for repairs off the value of the car, and in reality more than that. So, Lets figure you're going to be able to get $3500 or $4000 for the car. A $3500 or $4000 svx will probably end up needing money put into it fairly quickly to keep it usable (new tranny and all), so you're going to end up back at square one.

Keep the one you've got, make the deer pay. Or, well... the deer probably already paid, hu?
