Now thats old school. Still pretty cool though. I can still remember buggin' my mom for a quarter to play it at the local mall when I was like 5. Ahh...the old days.:)

A bunch of older games have been remade, but I think this is the first standup arcade machine to be sold again.

The new Spy Hunter, for the PS2, is really very good. The sequel will be on sale for the holiays. Defender, also for the PS2, is okay. It's not great, but merely okay. I hated it at first, but I got into the game...

I have the NAMCO Mueseum and Actavision Anthology for the PS2. Pretty cool to play the old games. I also have the Spy Hunter game. It's nice, but I wish they would do some other old games on a new format.

I LOVE Spyhunter for PS2, and I'm hoping my wife gets me Spyhunter 2 for Christmas. My only complaint is it's a lot easier than the original. But trust me, that changes when you play it all coked up on Percosets (I know what your thinking, and it was days after surgery.:p)

I don't usually buy older games, except for Square's stuff, which really isn't quite the same anyway. But it's just kinda cool to walk into a pizza joint or bar and see something like this in the corner. Very nostalgic.:)

A number of games have been revisited, but unfortunately few of them are great commercial successes. Spy Hunter is an exception.

The problem, in my opinion, is that few of these games are given the right treatment and/or budget.

I'm guessing you've never heard of MAME32 ???

I've got it and about 400 "Old School" games on a single CD

MAME just isn't the same, though. It's the high-tech version of low-tech, and for the nostagia, I prefer low-tech. I do have MAME, though, But it's for the Japan-only RockMan Power Fighters.

A bit of a side note, but once I finish my basement, I plan on trying to track done complete versions of NightStalkers, SF2, MKI & II, and maybe a couple of racers.:)

Ah, more reminiscing!

I used to have an Atari 2600 but I still have my Intellivision console!

If anyone wants to reminisce about older PC games here's the site to do it:

MAME32 uses the exact ROMs as the original games... that's the beauty. It is the old games. Even the boot sequence and sounds. Atari is even selling replica's of it's original joystick for not much money. (well it's not Atari of course but whoever owns the name today) anyway fun for not much mony is always a good thing...

My favorite game of all time has to be Goldeneye for N64...I wasn't around during all the old games like Space Invaders :( but Goldeneye I can still play for hours and not get bored!
