crank angle position sensor
 

My check engine light reads a code 11 which seems to be the crank angle position sensor. Could this be what is causing my engines idle to jump around occasionally at stop lights????

also is this going to be a pain the change?

it is not a pain to change.
you will have to take off the alternator and they sit right under that, pretty easy to get too. I am not sure how much the parts are though.

I bought a crank sensor and 2 cam sensors on Ebay for $25 about 3 months ago. I would buy a cheap used one before spending the big bucks that Subaru wants for them. Someone on here may have a bad engine with a good sensor.

This guy (http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/evalero1/) sells them new for $85 and $5 shipping. I don't know anything about him and I have never puchased from him. I recently had to replace my crank sensor and was going to order from him but then I found a used one for $20. good luck.
