Thumbs down on the new WRX

I think the new WRX styling is definitely a miss after so many years of hits... They need to quit trying to make it look like a alfa romeo... They get the Legacy lookingg reat and yet they screw up the WRX which got them the money to revamp the rest of the lineup.... UGH!

2001 WRX STi I sure do miss those round headlights

i kinda like it, the middle grille looks like the small middle part from the earlier Outback and Impreza's, but larger. As far as looking like an Alfa Romeo, I'd love an Alfa, so I'm biased....

But the headlights do look kinda dumb? :rolleyes:

But look for the B11 Impreza Concept------> the new hotness

I personally love the new styling. But that's my personal taste... :)

B11 != Impreza.

B11 = touring GT a la Alcyone.

I'm fond of the new fascia. Have been for a few years now.

I just dont like how theyre trying to make everything look like that abomination B9 tribeca.. why ruin a good thing.... WRX's were flying off dealer lots

I love the new look too-but not at first. You gotta go see this at the dealer if you haven't allready. It looks better in real-life and it'll grow on you. It was a fun little drive too...but not ready to trade the SVX!!

if i'm not mistaken, a lot of people thought the bug-eye was ugly when it was first released. i mean, everyone is going to have their own tastes but i personally like the new WRX.

A lot of people still think the bug-eye is ugly...

This should be a toll... I like it... seen it in person and it looks much better than what pictures show... most subies are the same way

The joke over at the bbs is that the new WRX grille looks like a "vagina" (Don't ask me, I didn't come up with it). I am in agreement though..the new WRX looks like crap.

Boxer6SVX 12-07-2005 08:51 PM

I agree with Ryan.. the GC8 was the best.... especially eith the HUGE rally lights implanted into the lower facia... I love the 2 door Impreza's... Id buy one in a heartbeat.

Trade my SVX for a WRX? One would have to be quicker first and turn heads like the SVX. heck, even the Subaru dealer was all over my car last weekend... half the newbie salesmen had no idea what it was... OR how good it sounded with a magnaflow exhaust when I more than moderately accelerated to merge in with traffic :D A Boxer 4 could never sound this good.

svxxx26 12-07-2005 10:05 PM

I like it...

Interesting. I bought my '06 WRX BECAUSE of the new styling! ;) I think it looks great - I like the "frown", and yes it does look even better in person. Big improvement over the round headlights and the '04-'05 attempt at appeasing the hordes of Impreza diehards that hated the bugeyes.
