Happy Holiday,
HAPPY 4th of JULY EVERYONE !!!! :p
Enjoy the holiday. Or, to paraphrase an old tune; "See the USA in your SVX-o-Ley". Happy Motoring :) Larry III  PS: "Ain't no more red coats 'cheere" (Yella' coats in Aredub's case) |
Ah the joys of living in a state with liberal fireworks laws (or, should I say, wide fireworks loopholes :))
Happy 4th everyone! |
i dont really do the fireworks thing.....
anymore. they are illegal in the city limits of memphis so i would have to go out to the sticks anyway. :( maybe i could stick some roman candles on the sides of my wheelchair and pretend to be a tank!! :D well...maybe not. but i will have to keep that in mind for halloween. :D

Happy 4th Y'all. I live in the sticks, Leo. You can come up here and set off some pyrotechnical madness. :D
Have a safe and happy one! PS: Thanks for the e-card, Don! |
Hmm
Guess I'd better keep my mouth shut and not wear my union-jack boxer shorts tomorrow, huh? ;)

Wear the boxer shorts. If it kicks off a topic of conversation, then, you're at the right party!!! Joe:D |
July [4th] madness
Have a very happy and a safe holiday all my friends Stateside. Keep at least one eye on the kids with the firecrackers, never hurts to be thorough and careful.
Got married a large number of years ago on July 4th. May seem a contradiction in terms, getting "tied up" on Independance Day, but not to me who believes that only love can set you free. Be cool Yolanda :D :D |

So, you're a Tory spy sent to the colonies to check up on us? Or are you one of those who left the oppressive mother country looking for freedom in the New World? You could always burn those boxers as a sign of defiance. |
i will be damned eddy......
we actually have something in common. i got married on v-day too! then again on my birthday (may 12). my wife is from mexico so we had to get married legally first (v-day) and then later we got married religiously in mexico.
i just got in from watching the local fireworks show and it was really nice. 30 minute show and it was only five minutes from my house. |
July 4th Experience
For some odd reason I got a day off work today  so I have time to check on the ramblings.
Every July 4th I look back and smile at the experience of 4 Brits on July 4th, 1976. Living in Canada at the time we figured we would like to share in the celebrations of your 200th anniversary. So we chose Bay City, MI as the lucky destination. We camped. After an afternoon (July 3rd) of partying at the local tavern we were ready for the real celebration and returned to the campsite in eager anticipation of the arrival of July 4th. As midnight drew closer, our campfire got higher and brighter, and our music got louder. By this time we were all a few Labbatts beyond realizing or caring that the rest of the campsite was trying to sleep. Therefore, as July 3rd ticked into July 4th, and our firecrackers went off and champagne corks popped, it should have been no surprise that the rest of the campers were not amused. Then the Sheriff arrived. We were not so politely told to shut up or go back where we came from. If not we would meet the same fate as those redcoats a couple of hundred years before. Funny now, but not so funny then. Hope you all had a great day. |

This is a little city, why have a 3 hour parade in 90 degree heat...tons of people had had enough also and were walking back to home or their cars. I felt kind of bad for the folks that spent money and time and got placed last...half the people were leaving when we did. Now for the big event, we get to climb Tubbs hill and watch the fireworks extravaganza<sp>! That's going to be special! Mobs of morons blowing off illegal fireworks on a hill that has extremely dangerous for the fire danger sign... I love the fourth of July, I put out 5 flags this year. But this is getting too ridiculous. Oh well we beat them dang redcoats (that was fer you Joe :D ) |

You do know we have come to new accommodation with our Brit neighbours these days, rather like you guys in the farther flung colonies. The trick is to retain the benefit of the rivalry for important things like rugby and soccer, and drop all the bitterness, unless they refuse to buy their rounds{unlikely} Joe:D |
