Roadtrip!

It looks like I'm going to see almost the entire legnth of interstate 80! The SVX is nice and all, but it is a bit hard to fit a full kitchen in and bed in, but the uber rare Vanagon Syncro Westy fits the bill quite nicely, so I may need to run up to canada a little north of Detroit to pick one up :D... It has a cult following much like the SVX, but being much rarer the 4x4 gear is worshiped and sacred, and it has the same powertrain layout as the subaru, but with the engine in the back!

My choice for the 'road trip' has (for the last 30 years ) , been the 65 Dodge A-100 van! you can outfit it any way you want, and with proper gearing, get 27 MPG. The one I have now does nowhere near that, but it will pull a sled better than most 4X4 p\u's! (tractor pull lingo). It has a Chrysler 413 and a hemi clutch pac 727, Usually, I have a 318 and 3 speed, w 2:73 gears, and 15 in tires. The vanagon will cost MANY $$$$ and the Dodges can be had for the TOW. But you have to 'clean them up a tad".
I will never be without an A-100 till I forget what a toilet is for!!

But is it 4 wheel drive?

Doesn't really matter, cause when it hits the power band, the front wheels are only 'for looks' anyway! I was going to do a graphic that had a 30 degree tilt, so it looked straight when the fronts were 'UP'!!

I want to do it in a Huggland's BV206. Double Cab version. They are legal to drive on the road too.

Actually it does, that kind of driving offroad will get you stuck or crashed ASAP!

The only concern w this van is a "FULL PULL", I've had 5 of them in every configuration, This is the strongest one yet!!

Sounds like a quasi shadow ;) That totally sidesteps my point...

Just yankin' your chain a bit!
My A-100 is just a body on a 72 GMC, w/ 750 HP 413 Chrysler and Hemi clutch pack 727 trans, big tube Hooker headers, and GM 12 bolt rear. drive shaft is 12 inches, 'yoke to yoke', and has not seen the street for 20 years, unless it was on the trailer.
It is my 'former' work truck, but I can't throw anything away!!

As soon as I get a life, it will be used for truck pulls. They have to re-write the rules for it most places. ( I told them that I would pull in the 4 wd class)
I guess Ill have to put a front differential on it so it LOOKS 4 wd, I can do that!!
