hi, i have a 5 speed transmition in my car. since a do the swap, i have the cel 38
38- Engine torque control Wiring harness between ECU and TCU is in short circuit i have to tap in the wiring to *bypass the tcu? somebody have done this swap? thanks you |

Unplug the TCU. You don't have to do anything else.

This does not need to be done. It is something leftover from the early days of 5mt swaps that turned out not to be necessary.
Just remove/unplug the TCU (and sell it to some fool with an auto). OP: what year is your car? Must be OBD 1 since the code is a small number like 38. A 96 or 97 cannot have an MT without throwing a CEL with the stock ECU. |
