My new SVX!

Hi all,

I've been quiet for a while on this forum, but I'm finally back to here and also to my new SVX! Yes, I have sold my '92 while ago, and I figured out that was a big mistake, especially if you live in LA area, which you can never find good SVXs. Felt like something big was missing from my life, yeah, it is true! It almost took half year to find good one......finally!! I paid good amt of $$ for it, but I think it's worth it. I don't wanna lose this chance. Some of you might have seen this car on some used car search,(LA area) sorry, I got it! I got it right away. I called them up so many times until it was ready for test drive. Then I did ater 5 days or so. Before I knew it I was already done with the paper work, took my new SVX home. I also put full warranties, so I'm not afraid of any trouble. I know this car from my experience, and that also helps. Mine is '96 Bordeaux Pearl. Beautiful color.. though there are tons of minor dents or scratchs, I don't care so much unless it had serious crash or something. My '92, overal body was crooked slightly. I just couldn't stand looking at it altough it was slight. This time, this SVX is perfect. each panel is matching to each other, no record of any accident. It's still sweet looking car. Amazing. OK, I guess I wrote too much, so here are visuals.

I know the wheels are backwards..:D

The car looks seriously cool Ryu. Welcome back, good decision! :D

That is a very nice colour, and it will polish up nicely.

Welcome to the bordeaux club! :D

What are your plans for it?

SubaRyu 04-17-2006 05:25 PM

Thanks guys! Yes! I'm back to here and SVX!! What a great feeling..

Today is an extra day off after the Easter holiday, so I was pretty much spending my time with my new SVX for almost entire day.. Back to work tomorrow. I will park my car in the very best spot so no one can miss it:D

I polished "yellow" headlight covers today and cleaned up some left over adhesive on the pass. window from price tag sticker. Getting better and better!!:D

This might be a stupid question, but now subaruparts.com doesn't show any image to order parts?? I don't particularly need anything right now, but I recently noticed that now you have to fill in some blank and let them know what you need.
But no, I don't really need anything from them now, this baby comes with everything! An under seat tray, owners manual, SVX pen, original floor mats, tools, etc. Nothing is missing or broken.. I mean, those were the issue on my old SVX.

Ah, yeah, forgot to mention, SVX has exactly same smell as my old one! Is this subaru smell or SVX smell?? Feels like home..GREAT!

Hey Nathan,

My Plan??

Wheels are backwards, so maybe start off from that..:D

Thinking about stereo first. I really don't remember the sound quality of the stock stereo,(one in my '92 died right after I bought the car) but I felt this isn't good enough for me. This can be considered for upgrade. Any good info on this?

Maybe lower the car? and off set wheels slightly. I still like stock looking as well. But I'm pretty sure when I lower the car, I will go crazy.. SVX looks sooo nice lowered too.

There are things you can't really see so much in the photos... Small dents and scratches! I will fix those and polish well....

Maybe paint the roof in black?

Ah, I can just think of so many projects.. which is really fun for me, I can't wait till I start. Now I'm getting busy moving to new place. So, after moved in, I will just start right on!

I saw the car on autotrader I hoped you talked them down from the $8000 they wanted. Your wheels look backwards and your tips are crooked.

Black roof?

Don't do it.. The all-over bordeaux colour shows off the car shape. Black roof will make it look too much like a '92.

So, how come the '96 car does not have the newer grille? You still have the waterfall. That looks like a good place to start.

After you reverse the wheels, of course....:D

Only the 97's came with the new style grille here.

Hmmmnn.

That would lead me to suspect that most of your '96 registered cars were manufactured in '95.

But maybe not, maybe it's a market thing.

Joe:)

Congrats, to fix your SVX-sick. :D

I didn't know you sold your 92 Pearl.

Looks good...how many miles on this one? New one is faster or old one is faster? :D

SVX-FF 04-19-2006 05:48 AM

Ryu your car look beautiful. Welcome back.

Your rims are not on backwards, they are just on the wrong side. If you swap left to right that will fix them. The tires may be another story:eek: . See if the dealer will switch them. Warranty work? Make the customer happy and all that.

Steve

Yeah, I sold my pearlie, since it had many problems, and I thought just getting new one was better idea. After I sold it, it was extremely hard to find another SVX. I was searching and searching every day, almost for 1/2 year. Finally this one came out. I didn't think. I just decided to buy before I miss this chance. Finally, I'm back on to the SVX leather seat... Smells same too:D
Good feeling.

Now the mileage is like 101,000. It's average for '96? Haha although I have a waranty, I still haven't driven hard enough, so still don't know how fast this one can do! But, on the freeway I instantly figured out this one was much smoother. I just wanna drive fast sometimes, but you know LA, traffic traffic, cops cops..:D
