strong wind :(

Saturday night, I went out to a local 24 hour Jewel around mid night to pick up some stuff with my brother.
To cut the long story shot, there was strong wind that night and I opened my door and the door flew out and hit the car next door. I yelled f***! and got out. Not a scratch on the 91 Sentra but my baby was hurt. The door where it hit the Sentra was bent in and pain chipped in 1/2. I will post the image later. Now I am really sad. I was trying to get away from those shopping carts and SUVs and I ended up hurting my own car.

Any recommendations on what I should do to the bent part?

Sorry to hear about your damage.

I'll wait to give advice until I see the picture.

Lwin, I hate to hear of your damage. Doug will probably be the best qualified to give advice in this case.

Yep, it seems the more we try to protect 'em, the more they're bent on causing us heartache (no pun intended). Just like a woman. :D

When I first read the heading of this thread, I thought, when I clicked it, I'd be reading comments about Larry III. :D:D:D::p

That is the reason I bought and installed door edge guards as soon as possible after taking delivery of my car almost 10 yrs ago. I got the narrow (about 1/2 inch wide) guards that have an adhesive inside and you cut them to the length you want. I have hit the edge so many times that I am sure glad I have them.

I woulda thought it would knock the Sentra over! What are they making those out of these days - rubber? (Gotta have a Sentra.;) )

Speaking of which - I got a email from Nissan today (I have no idea how they knew I wanted to hear from them:rolleyes: ). It was an ad for the 3.5 liter, 240 horsepower 2002 Altima (starting at around 23k, nicely loaded). Hmmmmmmmmmm.

SOMEBODY HIT ME!

(I still like the LLB, but 32k - 23k - 32k - 23k . . .)

Ouch!

You are not going to like my advice. Because of the split in the paint, you're going to have to save up some money and get it repaired.

I would NOT advise a vise grip to temporarily straighten it. It will stretch the metal and add to the cost of repairs.

Sorry bud,

Doug

Bummer! At least you don't have to cover repairs to the other car.
