I need to pick up an air filter

I got a slot at the car doctor's saturday. No time to order stock air filter.

I can pick up "any one" in any car store but OEM is better. Is it the same filter used in Impreza, Legacy, Forester, Outback? 16546AA020

Re: I need to pick up an air filter

There's nothing special about the air filter in the SVX, any generic part store should be able to sell you one. I believe the SVX even shares its filter dimensions with some other Subarus, I recall mention of the STi filter being used.

Just looked up a local pusher, he sells two filters:

16546AA020 <-- Opposedforces.com says this is the one

16546AA070 <-- Twice the price.. what is it?

Most 90's Outbacks, Imprezas, Legacys are all the same as the SVX. Also late model Infinity, Nissan. It's a very common filter.

Re: I need to pick up an air filter

16546AA020 is correct. Same filter as most of the turbo Imprezas/Foresters. It's a pretty universal design.

The AA070 is a slightly longer version, for different vehicle applications.

Go with the AC Delco replacement.

I went with a afe Dry S air filter.
I don't like oil types, because they coat every thing in oil then it get dirty defeating the purpose I think.
I am not saying there better than the cheap paper ones it just make me sleep better at night.

Yep, seems like a common filter = I can get hold of one on saturday :)

Did anyone by any chance have the Bosch part number for O2 sensors? I know it's on the board somewhere but search revealed little.

Thanks a bunch!

Dayle, there's no chance in hell you can ship me that filter, have customs clear it and me pick it up within saturday. But some local vendors seem to sell Green and according to Green's list it's used on a dozen other cars. Which means I might be able to pick up one locally!

NGK-24164

NGK/NTK 24164 are a lot more reliable and a lot cheaper. Pre-wired with connector, just plug-n-play. Once I installed them, I never had one fail.

NGK is the largest manufacturer of O2 sensors to the automobile industry.

Thank you sir! I was looking at getting a Pro Dry S filter but did not find one for the STI. Had no idea Nissan ones fit.

+1
NGK all the way on our cars. SVXi tend to reject Bosch stuff.
Interestingly enough, it's the complete opposite on older Audi's.
