OZ Palladio wheels

I am somewhat considering updating the look of my 96 Polo with a new set of wheels.

I found these at the Tire Rack. While they don't have an exact fitment for the SVX, they have wheels for the Mazda RX8.

These wheels are the OZ Racing Palladio. They come in sizes of 16-19". I am considering the 17 x 7.5". They have a +48mm offset and are a hyper bright silver paint. Does anyone have the center bore specs for our cars? I think these wheels would be hubcentric.

What do you guys think? They are $209.00 each, plus $40.00 shipping for the set.

that isnt a bad price and I think they would go well with the car. Have you seen these... http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...=Car%2FMinivan the 17 x 7 is 150 apiece and 48 offset, if they would fit these seem like a good deal also.

John,

Those wheels look amazing. This a wheel offset calculator I use frequently:

http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html

Stock SVX wheel = 16x7.5 with a +55mm offset
OZ Racing Palladio = 17x7.5 with a +48mm offset

Per the offset calculator, the change after installing those wheels will be:

Quote:

The clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 7mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 7mm
The offset of those wheels are close enough to our factory offset to work. Your suspension will be slightly softer, but you will have a wider track front & rear.

They look heavy

svxcess 06-30-2006 02:40 PM

The major stumbling block is the hub rings. The Mazda RX8 wheels are a 67mm bore, while the SVX takes a 56.01mm bore.

Doea anyone out there have a phone number for OZ Racing? I need to find out if they have hub rings for their wheels. How critical is this? can any rings be used that are that size or must they fit the contours of the individual wheel?

The 305-471-0042 number listed on the web for OZ Racing America is not correct.
Who else, besides Tire Rack, sells this wheel?

They look pretty good to me....

Agreed! They look hot! The price is pocket hurting for poor people like me. :o

I have NEVER had so much trouble trying to find a wheel!

I have no valid contact numbers for OZ Racing to get information on hub rings.

There are a lot of dealers in the UK, but they only sell them as a tire and rim package. They dont ship to the US.

And Tire rack is horrible to deal with! I told them I wanted them for an SVX and they said they wouldn't fit. I asked about applications that did fit our cars (Nissan Murano, RX8, etc) I told them that the bolt pattern was the same, similar offset was close enough, etc. They said they wouldn't fit and they would not sell them to me.

I said "can you look up which manufacturer uses a 114.3mm bolt circle (ours) and a 56mm center bore (ours) to see what is compatible?" The answer was still. "We can't and won't sell you these wheels."

If I can find out exactly what other kind of car has our offset, bolt circle and centerbore, I can call back, hopefully get a different rep on the phone and go from there. They will then hopefully supply the hub ring to match what I need.

Any other suggestions are most welcome.

Hehe...reminds me of how AvPPoW had to tell spec his clutch was for an eg33 swapped imprezza because "5 speed svx's dont exist"

Good luck on the search, the wheels look nice and are probly worth the effort (Unless of course..they arent)

John,
The rims look great! I wouldn't get to "bent" about TireRack...sounds like whomever you talked to had received the "we don't want any returns" training and just fell back on the SVX not coming up on his computer's screen as compatible with the rims.

I haven't spoken with them directly, but I think this "local" company handles OZ wheels

Here is a cardomain link to some photos what these wheels look like on a 2002 Seat Ibiza.
They are 17's but don't look quite right on this car... ad he's running 205x40 tires!

honestly to me , they are ugly too
lines are too choppy for such a rounded car
just my 2¢
and they are heavy, the only lite OZ rims are
their 3 pcs stuff...
OZ makes hub rings for all applications, thats not
a big deal.
Their main dealer is Tire Rack, prob the best price
too.

I have sent emails to:

OZ Wheels Australia info@ozwheels.com.au
OZ Racing America info@ozracing.com
OZ Wheels USA info@ozracing.com
Elite One corporation rpm@eliteone.com

No one has responded as of yet, and something tells me not to expect them to.
