Sunroof drain tubes location and clogged

So the front drivers side drainage tube for the sunroof appears to be clogged and is letting water into the car.

I've tried running trimmer line and a plastic coated wire cable but cannot clear the clog. The wire goes pretty far down into the tube from the sunroof entry point, but then stops.

So my first question is where is the exit point under the car where this tube lets water out from as I have thus far been unable to find it.

Secondly, how do you get the pillar material off to inspect the tube where it runs down the car door above the window?

You can check the drains first by taking a 1 gal size jug full of water, opening your sunroof all the way and pouring the water by the corner of each side at the front of the sun roof slowly it and will fill up fast. Also make sure your on the 2 of the sunroof guide /rail. The water should come out just behind the front wheels and the rear of the rear wheels . The tubes for the drain run down the front "A" pillars (front) and down the "D" pillars (rear) The exit through each wheel arch just under the inner fender liner

The gasket you are looking for is actually a Butyl sealer (black) simalar to what they use to seal windsheilds with.

The sealer is just under the guide/rail and the frame that mounts to the body

What happens is the sealer dries out and cracks and lets the water from the outside of the guide/rail into the inner part of the sunroof on to the sun shade and down the back of your neck when you hit the brakes or round a corner

Many years ago I remember trying to fix a drain issue in my Pearlie As I recall, I removed the A pillar plastic trim and the two sun visors and passenger side handle and then pulled down on the headliner to reveal that the plastic drain pipe for the sunroof was no longer attached to the drain spouts.

For some reason they shrunk by about an inch so all of the water from the sunroof was draining on top of the headliner then down the A pillar plastic trim into the passenger and driver footwells.

I fixed the problem by going to Home Depot and buying some 1/2 inch inside diameter plastic pipe and two plastic barbed fittings for joining the original and the new plastic pipe to extend the tube to reach the drain on the sunroof.

Had the car lifted up, tire off, inner wheel well plastic liner removed, and still for the life of me couldn't find the water outlet.

But I think my biggest problem is I can't figure out how to get the A-pillar trim removed. It looks like it's attached my screws I don't know how to get to.

I do believe they're 'pop-its' or something. They are usually brutal to pull out and often break on older cars like ours. Just pull really hard. Maybe wait for someone else to chime in anyway...

I had thought that, but as best I can tell it's a metal screw with a Phillips head on it

Still for the life of me can't figure this out. Anyone wanna do me a solid and take a poke at their drivers side a pillar trim to see if you can figure out how it comes off?

Here's a better pic of the screws that I think are giving me issue.

Alrighty got the trim off with a healthy dose of force, but the sunroof drain tube wasn't exposed under it like I was hoping.

Anyone know exactly where the drain tube exits under the car? The image in the mechanic manual hasn't helped me find it with my own eyes.
