Now why would we want to do that?? I am part Irish, but see no reason for another pure such holiday. :rolleyes:

So you can start drinking at a reasonable hour.

An Irishman is not drunk as long as he can hold onto a SINGLE blade of grass and keep from falling from the face of the EARTH!

Fatler O'Mally was driving down the street when he was stopped by a cop.
The cop asked if he had been drinking. Father told the cop that he had been drinking water from the bottle on the seat next to him. The cop asked if he could smell the bottle.
Father handed it to the cop. The cop said, " Father, it smells like wine to me". Father looked to the sky and said, " He's done it again"!

A Texan was visiting Dublin. He threw $100. bill on the bar and said, " This is for anyone that can drink 10 pints in 2 minutes!
A small Irishman got up and left. He came back about 20 minutes later and asked if the bet was still on. The Texan said, "yes".
The Irishman knocked back the 10 pints with 15 seconds to spare.

The Texan asked him where he went. The Irishman said that he went to the pub across the street to make sure he could DO it, before he took the bet!
