I occationally use a baby car seat. It's tight, especially if the car seat has the front restraint that flips over the top. I found that the seat belt doesn't really hold it down well. I believe there is special seat belt available for this purpose. Someone on the forum can probably help further.

Nothing other than developing back muscles you didn't know you had. I have put my kids in car seats and booster seats in my svx in the past with no problem. You can get clips that hold hte seatbelt together if the carseat were to be permenently mounted in the SVX as well. It's just a matter of bending over to pick the kid up out of the back seat that can be hard on your back.

I have tried it, it is very frustrating to get the car seat in and out. I use my Forester and park the SVX when I have to haul my little granddaughter around. Back-killing for sure to lift her in and out. But dont trade your SVX for a mini van!

Putting the seat in was about the only problem i've had. I'm the primary driver of my SVX but the past week i've been letting my wife drive due to the fact I was putting shocks, struts, inner and outer tie rod ends and also swaybar links into her volvo. Finding room for all the crap my wife has to take everywhere for our daughter is also a problem sometimes! Theres actually tie down hooks under the covers on the speaker grills in back to be used for one of the many child restraint systems, I think, atleast I though I read about them in the manual. Who knows
