Trevor! Between the SVX's (thats plural now!) and 2 weeks ago I bought an Olde english Bulldogge I am probably going to be newly divorced soon. Dogs are better then men anyways:eek: I got the nerve up to tell my husband that the new female was flying in from TX on the 20th of this month. Today I bought a little male olde for her to play with. We already have a 3 y/o pitt bull and since the post above was so scary I wanted to post this on e on a lighter note! :D

PIT BULL INVOLVED IN INCIDENT WITH CHILD AT AKC EVENT!!!
AP NEWS: BERRYVILLE , VA APRIL 5 2007
>From the World Wide Web

Stanly Police were called today to the Clarke County Fairgrounds to
investigate an incident involving a Pit Bull Terrier dog and a 9 year old child.

According to witnesses, the child was walking near the show rings unsupervised when she suddenly came face to face with the 70 lb Pit Bull Terrier dog.

The child threw her arms around the dog's neck, reports
say, when the unthinkable happened. The dog began enthusiastically licking the
girl's face as his tail wagged briskly.

"It was awful", said one bystander, "there was nothing we could do. That dog
was just giving that child every ounce of love he had and no one did a thing
to stop it".

Another witness, who took video of the event, said "This happens all the
time, I don't know how it hasn't made the news before now". One spectator,
who declined to be named in this interview, told reporters, "The sounds were
just heartwrenching, all that laughing and giggling. It made me smile so

hard my face hurts. I plan to sue for pain and suffering". The handler of
the dog admits this is not the first time such an incident has occurred, and
that the owners were "well aware of the stable, loving and patient
temperament of this dog". The owners were unavailable for comment.

Police state that the handler, who was noticeably unrepentant, was cited for
Reckless Entertainment. The dog was given roasted chicken treats and was not
taken into custody.

Please forgive this, its in two places before I saw this post.

Unfortunately most Pit Bulls are acquired by very nasty people, for the purpose of dog fighting. Given the right environment they can be nice dogs, but in general they have earned a bad name because of humans. :(

Huskys are another bad one that most people are not aware of. They are one of the top 5 most dangerous dogs. I had 2 start to attack my son and 2 girls in front of my place. My little 10 lb. doxie "Buster" protected the kids but was killed in the process. I could not get there in time to save him. The dogs were destroyed shortly afterwards. We had reported the dogs many times, but nothing was ever done. It took something like this do finally put them down. :( :( Again, it was more of the owners fault because they didn't take care of them and let them run free.

My neighbor had a pitt bull, very sweet dog, no prior attacking behavior problems, lived next door for almost 2 years, one day it dug a hole under my fence and attacked my beagle. :( Very scary. If we wouldnt have been able to get the dogs apart, it would have definately killed it. My neighbor got rid of the dog shortly after that as it had scared her so bad she couldnt keep it.

I have one that I wouldnt trade some of the people I know for! She follows me everytime I stand up and protects my kids from anything. She doesnt allow yelling and screaming because it excites her too much. We cant even play fight with her around, she has to be in the center of it and her teeth ARE bigger then mine. She just gets excited. If she ever thought about biting anyone here she would be gone.
I posted the article below to lighten up the mood on dogs, anyone have a good experience or am I the only one on here with a viscious pitt bull? :D

Audrey,

I know where you are coming from. The play fighting and plenty of contact with as many people as possible and the dog knows aggression is not the order of the day. The problem is when human kind pushes the other attributes of the breed.

My last dog was a large and strong Rhodesian Ridgeback, bred for hunting lions. He was gentle as could be, but if any other dog attacked him, Pit Bulls included, the result was a foregone conclusion. :D

All that said, what about George? There is none with a bigger heart than any of the terrier breed. :)
