Strange Dash Light Problem

All of the sudden today, my fuel light stopped coming on, even when I was down to less than a gallon in the tank - I've been running the car with less than 1/4 a tank lately due to low funds, could that be the cause?

Also, the light on the dashboard that indicates when the car is in 'D' doesn't work... PNR&321 all light up, but when the car is in drive there is no green light surrounding Drive

any ideas people?

Pull the cluster out, replace the two bulbs that are burnt out. Pretty simple to do...you can even yank the bulbs from the lights that dont matter / rarely light up (Take the 2 light, stick it in d, ect.)

The two lights are probably burnt out because you drive alot, and your always almost out of gas:p

...there's a how to for removing the cluster...Cause i KNOW you're gonna ask before looking:lol:

your logic is flawless... :p

another random question while we're on the subject of dashboard lamps:
with all the overheating issues related to our transmissions, is there any way I can set the threshold for the ATF warning lamp lower, so it comes on after spirited driving, when the temp reaches a few degrees higher than normal, instead of never coming on, ever? anyone follow what im saying?

I'd like to think that running a resistor with the temp sensor would adjust it some... It would take some experimentation, though.

Yeah, but that would also throw off the low setting that the TCU uses to allow the TC to lock up.

In June about 3 years ago, my Legacy's light on the dash for "D" stopped working as well. It was really weird. Then about 6 months after that, the light just randomly came back on again. It was very strange.

My point? Maybe the light isn't burnt out. Maybe for some reason the TCU is being stupid and the light isn't going on.
