Ls, Lsi....

I have a 94 FWD svx. Would that be an LS or LSI?

Green1995SVX 04-20-2004 09:16 AM

It would either be L or LS. Does it have a sunroof?

its not an LSI.

LSI's have AWD, lether, and wood grain.

Does your car have the ABS module under the hood?

Check out the following site: Cars101

They list all the years and models of SVX's. If you have ABS, your car is an LS model, if no ABS it is an L model.

According to the specs listed on Cars101, the '94 FWD LS model has ABS (as well as the AWD LSi).

I have ABS and FWD.
Where are you getting this LE stuff from? For 94, wasn't there only an L, LS, and LSi? He's got an LS (same as what I have).

i know it's not official, but car and driver tested a '94 LE which was a fwd model with escaine seats, wood grain trim and a sunroof. i desperately want one of these as my summer svx. i will post more info, if i can find my magazine.

Honestly, every car magazine makes mistakes and typos. I subscribe to C&D, MotorTrend and Road & Track and in almost every issue in the feedback section, they are always correcting typos and mis-information from a previous issue.

On the other hand, if official Subaru literature stated there was an LE model in '94, that would be another issue....

If you walk into a Subaru dealer and look up their star system, you WILL see that there are parts for 1994 LE SVX.

How do I know? I know my local suby dealer enough that I can call him up and ask him to make svx keys from vins for free.

LE is much like AWS SVXes.... its an on going argument and trust me on this one, I won. Walk into a reputable suby dealer and tell him you have a 94 LE and that you want an ashtray, he'll get you one. Same part as 94L though.

I guess the LE model will be one of those great mythical stories we can tell about the SVX - some will believe, others won't... :D
