Hail Woes

I think I'm going to cry. My beautiful 1994 SVX was pummelled by hail today. Larger than golf balls and just slightly smaller than baseballs, they did one hell of a job on the roof, hood and left side fenders.

I'm kind of sick about it.

Every car in the parking lot had the same kind of damage. Some of them even had broken windshields, side windows and rear windows completely smashed in. At least I didn't have that.

If you have insurance it should cover it. Don't worry, I had a car fixed, and afterwords you couldn't tell. You could try dry ice too. Hail damage ususally pops right back out, because the metal has a 'memory'. I'd much rather have hail damage than rust. :\

I am sorry to hear about that. Keep us posted on what happens. :(

thankfully the trunklid is fiberglass....Kinda saves on dent repair. I imagine the roof, hood, and fenders are ahnilated....The hood is an easy fix, but the roof could take some time. Im sure your insurance will cover it

Very sorry to hear that Bill.:( The hail was quite nasty here and I am about 3 miles from where Bill works. It was about golf balls sized here and I watched in horror as it pelted off my vans windows(didn't break any and I haven't seen any dents yet). Thank God Road Demon was tucked away in the garage. I was out working on my van when it started and by time it was done I had a huge pile of ice balls covering my yard and everything else. It's my first time ever seeing hail in person bigger than pea size and it's pretty intimidating to hear it beating off everything around you. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you Bill.

i was caught in golf ball size hail a couple years ago, insurance covered it.

being in the car, was the scary part, it was SO DAMN LOUD!

sorry to hear about it, but at least, if your insurance covers it, you get a spankin new paint job :D

I'm on hold waiting to file my insurance claim right now. I just a little worried that they're going to want to total the car. I'll let you know what happens.

I didn't realize the trunk lid was all fiberglass. I was surprised that it was OK.
