any thoughts?

it was a big oops

I unfortunately was suckered into buying one when I was younger and moi stupido. It does help gas mileage slightly. However, unless you plan on putting another 450,000 miles on your car you won't recover your costs.
Take that $78.00 (including shipping) and go buy a 'No Fear' sticker. That will definitely give you bigger whp gains than the "turbonator" plus it will leave about $75 cash to use as fire starters during the winter

Jayahalasi 05-24-2005 09:53 AM

no it's the "mazda speed" stickers that add whp (saw a honda accord the other day with those)

lol

sicksubie 05-24-2005 09:57 AM

don't forget the kid peeing on the chevy emblem. Those things are dyno tested for about 10-15whp ;)

Dza 05-24-2005 10:02 AM

...and neon lights. Nohing like the HP gain from green neon underlighting. When used with a mismatched decal pack, the car is unstoppable.

There's a old supra near my place with a Mazda Speed sticker too, but I think it's supposed to be a joke. At least I hope it is.

sicksubie 05-24-2005 10:05 AM

quickly go liberate that poor supra and then pm me and I'll give you my address to send that poor 7mgte to me for "counseling"

this is similar to a device i heard they had on some sort of special fiero they built around 85. it was on the v-6 2m6. i don't know if it's true or not but all i know is i rode in it and it was the most intense and adrenaline filled ride i've ever had. yes i said an 85 fiero 2m6.(stop giggling) this thing had the most unreal power i've ever seen. the guy said it dynoed at 316 whp!!! and i belive it! it had a 4 speed i believe and he said it had a ram clutch. said he had to replace the mounts every 6 months religously. this thing was actually pegging out the speedo like it was nothing! from one traffic light to the next!!!!!!!! it was scary going that fast on chevette brakes and suspension. only time in my life i ever asked someone to slow down.i looked the car over and it looked like any other beat down 85 fiero from engine to interior but damn was it FAST!. if anyone knows anything about this let me know. he said it was some sort of a turbo and it was mounted under the intake. but he insisted it was factory other than the clutch thermostat and computer chip.

There is always a "Conartistinator" to take the hard earned cash of the "Suckerinators !!"

sicksubie 05-26-2005 10:21 AM

Hold on guys, we are all forgetting the single most important mod of all. This one is by far and away the best money to power modification that you can do. Wal-Mart chrome hub caps

sicksubie 05-26-2005 10:22 AM

woops forgot about these

kuroneko_sama 05-26-2005 11:25 PM

on the original note, isnt that thing the exact same thing as "the gas saving tornado"

they sound ok to improve a few mpg... but for the price, ill jsut hope someone else buys me one as a gift...

Turbonator

I understand the manufacturer's claims that forcing air to swirl into the intake manifold will help w/ fuel mixture but I'm having trouble w/ the idea since we have dual TB's. It may not make a difference but wouldn't splitting the single swirl into two at least counter act the purpose of the turbonator? I honestly think this is a gimmick, nothing more.

It is a gimmick. I bought the same thing a few years ago (its still sold under another name) and it did absolutely nothing except relieve me of around $60. I sent it back and never heard back from them; never got my money back. Absolute waste of money.
