Legacy Sti???

I saw an article in the current Road and Track about the testing of a Legacy Sti. Supposedly it will be running a Twin turbo flat six. Horsepower estimates are around 350 horse. Has anyone else seen anything else on it. I was thinking if they are offering the WRX Sti with a six-speed why not the legacy. And i was searching the forum for anything on a six-speed conversion and got to thinking. If they might be offering the six-speed on the legacy shouldnt it bolt to the svx's engine. I know i made a few circumstancial conclusions but it worth the thought. Maybe im just dreaming.

This has come up here before. The 'spy photos' I saw the last time were anything but conclusive.

there exists an STi tuned legacy sedan which incorporates the new Subaru 6-speed. It is called the S401 and it is the meanest automobile on the face of planet earth. okay, so maybe i embellish a little, but it's still TOTALLY awesome

Okay, I won't debate with you that there are STi Legacys in Japan and a few other markets. But whether or not we get one is still up in the air, I say - as are the car's specs. The 'spy photos' I saw are not of a US-market car, and they certainly don't tell us the displacement of the engine.

more research..

I did a little more research and found out ome very interesting things. It appears that subarus sti branch is moving into almost every model that subaru makes. I was wandering aroung some japanese sites and they were reporting about the definite exsistance of legacy stis(which have twin turbo 2.5 flat fours, sorry my mistake) and the development of a sti forestor. The latter is rumored to put out about 265hp. Unfourtunately they did not say whether either the leagcy or the forestor would be making their ways to this country. however they are almost certainly going everywhere else. I guess it comes down to that demand thing. I personally would be up for a high power forestor. It would make a nice utilitarian stablemate to the svx.

It seems obvious that with the sales of WRX,s that people are ready to buy the goods. So send them over.

i know alot of people that were not in the market for a30k subaru would now be swayed otherwise, and i know that subaru will be testing the market for a $30k suby with the new STi and its all up to the poeple who DO have th money then most people like us that merely wish they had it.
