Seats

Anyone know if its possible and if so how hard it would be to convert cloth svx seats to leather, both front and back seats.

There are at least a couple ways to do it. The cheaper and probably easier route would be to buy a set of leather seats from a scrapped SVX and install them. Downside to that is you get what you get condition wise. Most leather SVX seats are 20+ years old now and showing it.

The second option which is more money and more work but might come out a lot nicer would be to pick up a new leather kit and have an upholstery shop redo your cloth seats:

Finding leather seats from another svx and swapping them is exactly what I was thinking. I was just wondering how hard it is to switch the front and back seats in general :)

Are the power hook ups already there for the drivers seat in the lower trim levels?

Good question I'm not sure. I haven't purchased the car yet. I'd be going to see it tomorrow.

I have pulled out my seats many times, probably once too many. It is a very easy job, especially if you have power tools. It literally took me 10 minutes to pull all the seats out. 2 front plus the rear. The hardest part is getting the 60lbs front seats out of the car once unbolted since it's so low. :p

The wiring for the lower models should all be present just like the higher end models. So if you go to electric seats it should just be a matter of hooking things up.

Oh good having the power there would be awesome. If it isn't I was going to ask if any knew how to run the correct power for the seats. I pick the car up tomorrow so I'll have a better idea of what I need to do if I decide to go this route.

Re: Seats

Between $895.00 for single color and an additional $125.00 for 2 colors, plus shipping. They can make any color combos, SVX embroidery, etc. Possibilities are endless. A local upholstery shop can probably install them for about $250.00.

For complete set, front and rear. Be aware that they will not fit SVX's with split backrests. The rear seat is for the one-piece fold-down only.

I wonder what my shop would charge to mod it for my split rear seat. ( had to have the odd ball one ). Or how much to do a compleat set like it. Might be cheaper to let them do the whole thing.

You might message him via Facebook. Or better yet place your question on BOTH of the FB groups so he (and other people) can't miss it.

FB at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/svxworldforums/
and
https://www.facebook.com/groups/86594703272/

We have found his web store badly out of date. Stuff no longer available, out of stock, etc are still listed for sale with no info on lack of availability.
