Highly unlikey. I doubt there is enough space in any direction.

Umm. Well, the EG33 is "technically" a EJ series engine, so the mounts would probably line up. Now, you'd probably have to do a little bit of engine bay modification. I do have to say though, I've seen an EG33 in a BC (a 90-94 Legacy).

However, if you're really looking for a 6cyl in a Forester, probably would be better to go with EZ30. It's a little smaller and would be more likely to fit without any serious modification.

The Forester is based on the Impreza platform, and there have been EG33 transplanted into Imprezas before, the width isn't a problem, as it's no wider than a DOHC 4-Cylinder, but the radiator area IS a problem....

Yes, in the Legacy EG33 swap, the front frame had to be cut a little bit so that the radiator and fans would fit.

Anything can be made to fit with modification. No question there, but as a straight drop in space for your engine complimenting accessories ie radiator, fans, is severely limited.
It probably can't be done without some cutting.

Indeed, it has been fitted innto a gen 1 liberty over here, i think with a bit of effort a eg33 fozza isnt out of the question, ir to save the hastle just get a tribeca

As my father used to say, with a torch and a hammer anything is possible :). But the engine is longer, It has been done before, but the entire front end had to be modified to move the radiator forward.

The EZ30 out of the new Legacy, and Tribeca is a much smaller made 6-cylinder, that will fit in without too many problems...
