fixing power window

1 Attachment(s)
My driver side window recently died. took the door panel off to discover that there is a small white plastic piece that holds secures the window to the cable. I am trying to find out a part number on that piece. Also, the cable is slightly frayed. Should I replace the cable and how much of a pain is that to accomplish?

Another question, how hard is it to find interior pieces? I need to replace the cover on the driver side door sill and the trunk release handle.

Thanks in advance,

Ken

62101PA081 is a sleeve lock regulator. It is a redesign of the clip and is found starting with the 94 SVXs. It will replace the 92-93 window clip as well. Evidently there was a problem with this clip and so Subaru decided to offer this as a replaceable part starting in '94.

For the part, check here: http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...category=601-1
Cost of the part is $7.58 from subaruparts.com and about $10.00 from your dealer.

Here is the link to the installation:

Post #7 is the installation. The attachment in post #11 shows the clip itself.

Bookmark this site. As for replacement parts, go to Subaruparts.com for diagrams here

The 1993 year has both the gray AND beige parts that are used in all of the trim pieces

Your driver's sill cover can be found here: I'm not sure if you have the L or LS (gray interior) or the LSi (beige interior)

Your trunk release knob can be found here (part #7 on the diagram)

Hey John, I think you forgot about the kitchen sink! :D

(what he said)

Also don't be afraid to try the search feature. Almost every SVX issue has been covered on multiple occasions.

THAT my friend, would be found here: http://www.appliance-shop.com/shop/s....asp?ID=321505

Anyway, as I said in the post, when searching subaruparts.com for trim pieces, use the 1993 model year since it has both colors. The 92 section doesn't show the beige, and the 94 and up doesn't have the sealing and trim category.

Besides, by giving you much more information than you might need, I can live up to my sv-xcess handle :D

The easy way to learn to search is to click on the "Message Archive" link on the top right of the site for tips.

Excellant advice. I will do so in the future. However, what great information that was posted above. Thanks so much for the help.
